2014 Staff Training Recap
In mid-September, 35 Viaventure staff members, guides, and drivers from Guatemala, Belize, Honduras, and Costa Rica came together for a four-day-long training event in the Antigua and Lake Atitlán areas of Guatemala. The training, which has taken place annually since 2006, was full of team-building activities and workshops and reinforced the notion of the “Viaventure way”—the company’s professional service doctrine.
“The ‘Viaventure way’ encourages our team to go the extra mile to ensure superior service for our clients,” says company co-founder Beat Brunschwiler. “It’s about creating unique experiences and having fun, too.” Training topics covered health and safety, core company values, risk management, and sustainable travel guidelines; there were workshops on specialty areas like archaeology and birding, too.
The event culminated in a formal gala dinner in Antigua’s San José el Viejo ruins; staffers got dolled up, then dined and danced the night away.
